Inspired by haute couture, art history, contemporary music, and found objects, San Francisco artist emiko oye, handcrafts colorful and bold urban jewelry from repurposed LEGO™, metals, gemstones, and recycled materials.
Utilizing such a globally beloved material, she tugs on the nostalgic heartstrings of all genders, young and old, artfully embedding memory into conversation-sparking, contemporary adornment.

Since receiving her BFA from Syracuse University in 1997, her work has been shown in exhibitions internationally and across the US including a solo exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design. Her art is in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland Oregon. Her work has been featured in many publications including: 21st Century Jewelry, On Jewellery, The Art of Jewelry: Plastic and Resin, Humor in Craft, Metalsmith Magazine and American Craft.
